Fibre art does something flat prints cannot. It adds real texture and soft shadow to a wall, which is exactly what a UAE apartment full of marble, glass and gloss joinery tends to be missing. A macrame piece warms a room without introducing another strong colour, and the neutral cream and beige designs in particular go with almost any existing scheme.

Each piece is handwoven, so slight variations in knotting and dimension between individual pieces are part of the craft rather than a flaw. Colours run from undyed natural tones through sage, moss and emerald greens to black and white and soft pastel accents.

How do I hang one?

Pieces hang from their wooden dowel or driftwood rod, using either a single centred hook or two hooks depending on width. Fibre work is much lighter than a framed canvas, so a standard wall fixing rated for the piece's weight is normally sufficient.
